What is a Children's Museum?
The purpose of a children’s museum is to inspire children to learn and grow through play. To provide a safe environment where learners of all abilities can do so at their own pace and focus on topics that interest them. Children’s Museums partner with other youth based organizations and schools to provide all children and families in their communities with The Power of Play!
The Power of Play
The science of brain development is providing concrete evidence that there is real power in play. While often dismissed as “just fun,” play is the vital activity that children use to learn about and interact with their world.
Through self-directed play, children can follow their interests, explore the unknown, link outcomes with choices, conquer their fears, and make friends.
